Vestry Meeting
Minutes
December 15, 2024
Call Meeting to Order: Shirley
Opening Prayer: Carolyn
Vestry Members Present: Frank, Carolyn, Doug, Sam & Shirley
Others Present: The Rev. Jim Stewart, Sarah
Absent: Rita
Approve Current Agenda (Amendments/Changes, etc.) Carolyn made a motion to approve the current agenda with additions. Sam seconded and the motion carried
Approve Minutes: Jim made a motion to approve the minutes from the November 17, 2024 meeting. Carolyn seconded and the motion carried.
Treasurer's Report- Sarah Healy
Frank made a motion to except the financials. Carolyn seconded and the motion carried.
Old Business:
1. Book of Common Prayer: Jim put out the 10 new books.
2. Wyoming Gas Bill: We will be paying $400 a month.
New Business
1. Annual Meeting: The Annual Meeting will be January 14th following church.
2. Vestry Meetings: Carolyn made the motion that starting in February Vestry meetings will be held on the 3rd Monday at 6pm to allow us use of the tv in the Parish Hall. Frank seconded and the motion carried.
3. TV’s to be Installed & Desk: With help the tv in the Parish Hall was hung last week. Sam has reached out to Jerry Kiser to see if he would be available to help hang the tv’s in the church. Paul from Serlkay has given us a few desk options to choose from.
4. Donnie Hampton: Carolyn made the motion that $1,000 be given to The Cathedral Home from St. Alban’s in Donnie’s memory. Jim seconded and the motion carried.
5. Thermopolis: Vern Miller contacted Jim to see if he would be able to help Holy Trinity out a few times a month as they don’t have a priest. After discussion the vestry voiced that as the priests at Holy Trinity had helped us out when we did not have our own priest it would only be right to help them. The final decision is being left up to Jim as he will be the one doing it.
Reports:
1. Rector’s Report-The Rev. Jim Stewart: Jim reported the Feed The Hungry grant we received for $5,000 was donated to Ministerial Association for Christmas Baskets and Blessings in a Back pack. Each group received $2,500. Genie will be here January 22 & 23 to help set up the new camera and sound system.
2. Sr. Warden's Report-Shirley Wildman: Shirley talked about the new camera system.
3. Jr. Warden's Report-Samantha Strickler: Sam shared that when Jadeco went in to change out the bulbs in the spot lights in the church the ones they took out were not what they were expecting. Cody is looking into the ability to get replacement bulbs and the possibility of having to replace the entire thing. She will get a new bid to Sam next week.
4. Born Again-Shirley Wildman: Shirley reported that Born Again will be closed December 24th -December 30th.
5. ECW Report- Shirley Wildman: No meeting until January.
6. Congregational Care Team: They will meet December 17th at 10:00am.
7. Vestry Reports: Sam made the motion that Carolyn will get the list from A N B Bank for Donation suggestions for boys from the boys’ school. We will have a $500 limit and Carolyn will get the receipts to Sam. Jim seconded and the motion carried.
